The India Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction will host 350 players to go under the hammer as teams aim to complete their requirements ahead of the upcoming season.
The auction will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, with the first 70 cricketers set to be called out manually by the auctioneer on Tuesday. Over the course of the day, 238 uncapped players will be up for grabs while only 77 spots are available across the 10 franchise. Among them, 14 cricketers have also been short-listed as uncapped overseas cricketers.

Uncapped players will be integral to this auction alongside the overseas stars in firming up several bases for each franchise. Yet to hit the national spotlight, some of these players have still set the auction charts with record-breaking bids over the years.

Who are the most expensive IPL uncapped players in history?
In the 2022 IPL Auction, Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh Khan made headlines when he became the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history, becoming the first player from the category to earn a bid of ₹10 crore, from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Interestingly, only three other bids have crossed the Rs 9-crore mark among uncapped players, all occurring in the post-Covid era between 2021-22. In IPL 2021 auction, Australia pacer Riley Meredith became the most expensive overseas uncapped player in IPL history, receiving a Rs 8 crore bid from Punjab Kings.

Who were the biggest uncapped signings in IPL Auction 2025?
Pacer Rasikh Dar was the most expensive uncapped signing at the previous auction, snapped up by RCB for Rs 6 crore. Dar has been retained by the defending champions.
