Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 Standings: Pakistan bounced back from their loss to India on Sunday with a five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka which helped them rise to second spot in the Super 4 standings at the Asia Cup. Their position is still very precarious, considering they are the only team to have played two games in the Super 4 stage while India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have all played one.
Bowling first, Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed three wickets while Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat claimed two wickets each to restrict Sri Lanka to a score of 133/8. Only Kamindu Mendis could manage a half century for the island nation on the day. In return, Pakistan almost stumbled through the chase, before a unbeaten stand of 58 runs off 41 between Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz helped them knock off the runs needed for victory.
Earlier, India had inched closer to the Asia Cup 2025 final berth after thwarting Pakistan for a second successive time within a week, recording a six-wicket victory to open the Super 4 stage.
The win had ensured India took the top spot after a round of games in the Super Four stage. India will take on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in their forthcoming games in Dubai on Wednesday and Friday.
