Yashasvi Jaiswal cracked a blistering third-innings century for Mumbai in his first Ranji Trophy match since January 2025 against Rajasthan on his IPL home ground at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Resuming from his overnight half-century after Mumbai were flattened by Rajasthan’s massive first-innings score of 617 for six declared, Jaiswal stormed to his century on Day 4 off 120 deliveries with 11 boundaries.
The hundred was Jaiswal’s fifth century for Mumbai in only 21 innings in Ranji Trophy since his debut in 2019. The southpaw has cracked 17 First Class centuries in total, including seven Test hundreds.
The 23-year-old also reached 1000 Ranji Trophy runs during the knock, averaging over 57 in 10 matches. Additionally, Jaiswal had also rolled his arm over the previous evening, dismissing Rajasthan’s top-scorer, Deepak Hooda, on 248.

Jaiswal had flown back home from Australia where he was part of the Indian ODI team which lost the series 1-2 to Australia. He was benched for all three games. The ongoing Ranji contest is his first match for Mumbai, since his decision at the end of last season, to quit on Mumbai and a subsequent about-turn.
Jaiswal is not part of India’s T20I team which is currently playing a five-match T20I’s series against Australia in coming days. With the South Africa series to be played at home next month, Jaiswal is looking to get some match practice. The MCA selection committee will meet, after their ongoing Ranji Trophy game, against Chattisgarh.
During the recently-concluded home Test series against West Indies, Jaiswal scored his seventh Test hundred at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He became just the second batsman after South Africa legend Graeme Smith to have scored seven Test hundreds as an opener before the age of 24.

Additionally, only Sachin Tendulkar had scored more centuries than Jaiswal before the age of 24.
